Fibertool Beta is a four-motor fusion splicer for splicing single optical fibers with a diameter of 125 microns.
The device is equipped with universal clamps that allow splicing fibers in a usual coating of 250 microns and 900 microns, as well as patch cords with a diameter of 2 mm and 3 mm and, moreover, fibers in a loose coating of 900 microns (splitters, etc.).
The number of software functions is kept to a minimum. The setting is done manually. The USB port is for service use only.
The battery of the Fibertool Beta is built-in, not removable, and can only be charged inside the splicer itself. The battery capacity is 5200 mAh.
The optical system has mirrors. It should be noted that the protected and durable mirrors of the optical system are not a weakness, they are a design feature.
The device does not have equipment for Splice-On connectors, nor does it have detachable clamps. The heater is equipped with an auto-start sensor.
The cleaver does not have an automatic trash bin, only a container. You cannot attach an automatic shard collector. Fragments are removed manually by an operator. The height of the blade is adjusted by a Fiber cleaver cam. The rotation of the blade to a new position and the height adjustment are separated, which makes it easier to set up the tool. While the cleaver blade is unique, an undeniable advantage is that the rubber clips are standard for easy replacement.
With the Fibertool Beta, the fiber image is more detailed than with classic four-motor fusion splicers with fixed microscopes. The core of the fibers is distinguishable and allows you to evaluate splicing quality "by eye".

Fibertool Beta is a device with automatic fiber diameter alignment. Four motors feed and align fibers to eliminate axial misalignment prior to splicing. The device can be used not only in subscriber networks, but also in public networks.

In addition to textual information, the log contains a screenshot of the splicing joint. Logging is performed cyclically (when overflowing, old entries are replaced by new ones).
